Entrance:
The day prior and day of the show there was torrential rain and therefore my initial plan of lining up was not going to happen. On the day of the show, we decided to risk standing in the adverse weather despite the chances of being soaked from 5.30pm. There was a substantial lineup already in place although it didn’t deter us. There was definitely an excitement amongst everyone and lots of Rammstein and Till chatter happening around us.

I started to weigh up my chances of getting to the barrier assuming some people would go for the merchandise and others the bar, so when the rain started at 7pm on the dot as the entrance opened, we moved quickly through security and straight to the left side barrier placed to be in front of Danny Lohner and Krissy Kaminski.

Place/seat and view:
The Hordern Pavillion has no assigned seating, and I was lucky enough to get to the front barrier, and I could see the unassigned seating filling up quickly. I couldn’t believe that I manifested this precise location to see the show.

Opener:
Mélancolia was a surprising and entertaining opening act. I had no expectation or knowledge of them and came away a fan despite them not being my go-to genre of music. Visually and musically held their own opening for Till Lindemann with Danny and Krissy enjoying them from the sides of the stage.

Band:
This was my first experience live of seeing Till in all my years of being a Rammstein/ Till fan. The whole lineup are standout musicians and performers. Due to my positioning, I could see Joe Letz, Danny and Krissy particularly and admire their expertise. Brynn Route and Emily Ruvidich were further away but the tightness of their playing was impeccable.

Music:
The Sydney setlist was the same as I had seen from the European leg of the tour and it was amazing. Hearing and seeing Till and the band play the songs live was a life changing moment for me and I am forever hopeful of more tours now.

Favorite moment:
Literally the moment we could see Till’s mohawk on the other side of the stage and then the music started I jumped up and down with excitement. Having Fat start and sing along with Till standing in front of me was surreal. Along with shaking his hand as he walked past after Platz eins and Danny coming to the front barrier after the show and purposely giving us guitar picks were all highlights for me.

Total experience:
I am so thankful that Till was able to tour Australia. To be surrounded by so many likeminded fans who were all there to celebrate and watch in awe made the whole experience one I will never forget, and I hope I have the chance to see Till perform again.
